Local roofing companies stand tall to support Taranaki Club Rugby

Two leading local roofing companies Taranaki Steelformers and Central Roofing have teamed up to become the official naming rights sponsor of Taranaki’s Club Rugby competition.

Founded in Stratford in 1983 by Darrell Back, Taranaki Steelformers has grown to become the region’s largest manufacturer of steel and is the only locally owned roofing manufacturer in Taranaki.   Working in conjunction with their approved roofing fitters Central Roofing, jointly sponsoring Club Rugby was a good fit for the locally owned and operated companies.

Central Roofing Directors Brendon Back and Duncan Corlett said that supporting Club Rugby would allow the two companies to spread their sponsorship throughout the province for the benefit of the wider Taranaki community.

We are very excited to be supporting the province through Club Rugby sponsorship.  Our businesses operate throughout Taranaki and this partnership with Taranaki Rugby provides us with an opportunity to give something back to the community that has long supported us.

The notion of locals supporting local companies is the backbone of many businesses and has very much remained true for ours.  Remember in the long run, it pays to go with the locals Taranaki Steelformers and Central roofing.”

Taranaki Rugby Commercial Manager Geoff Hitchcock is pleased about the new partnership with two local iconic brands.

“Club Rugby is the grass roots of the game in our province and the strength of this competition is vital to nurturing the game in Taranaki.

As two extremely successful and proud local companies we are pleased that Taranaki Steelformers and Central Roofing have decided to get involved…….”

Thus far the Taranaki Club competition has proved to be strong with plenty of new talent emerging. While the first round of the 2009 Club Rugby competition has already been completed, the second full round of competition gets underway this weekend.
